The Manifesto
Who Made it Happen?
1. Respond to Made in California exhibition themes in relation to the future: a. Cultural landscape. b. Natural landscape. c. Built environment. 2. Create experiential, interactive installations/environments that engage: a. Kids (primarily elementary school and middle school). b. Their families (cross-generational). c. Their teachers (curriculum resource). 3. Encourage and provoke public response . . . installation may actually incorporate visitor feedback. 4. Consider the permanent collection a resource or inspiration. 5. Motivate visitors to investigate the Made in California exhibition as well as the permanent collection at LACMA East. 6. Consider possibilities for studio/workshops, including walk-ins and classes. 7. Consider involving kids in planning, fabrication, or testing of project.
