The outermost circle represents the everyday world, the eternal round of birth and death that is the realm of suffering in the Buddhist worldview. If you look closely, you can see tiny figures in a landscape.

This circle is the imaginative point of entry for the meditator, who starts out acknowledging life as we know it, while expressing the desire to transcend the everyday world by achieving nirvana.
