Art Classes
LACMA art classes provide unique opportunities to learn about art through studio activities, discussion sessions, and visits to the galleries. Art classes are taught by a dedicated faculty of experienced artists and art educators.
No prior art-making experience is necessary. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration is required for all classes, camps, and workshops. Enrollment varies per class. Art materials and parking fees included in tuition.

General Art Class Information
FAMILIES
Perfect for children, parents, and grandparents! Come learn about art and make art at the museum together. Classes for Children Ages 3 1/2 to 5 and Their Family Members offer very young children and their parents a variety of experiences, including storytelling, observation activites, and art-making. Minimum age requirement for this class is 3 1/2 years. Intergenerational Classes for Students ages 5 to 105 present to students of nearly all ages the opportunity to learn about art and make art at the museum together.

KIDS
Children's art classes emphasize creative problem-solving and experimentation and instruction in drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, an mixed media. In addition to art-making, classes include gallery activities and the viewing of original works of art from the museum's permanent collection or special exhibitions. Unless otherwise specified, the minimum age requirement for children's classes is six years and up.

TEENS
Classes designed especially for this teenage group, present fundamental approaches to art. Students focus on a variety of technique and develop their own personal styles.

ADULT ART CLASSES
Studio & Gallery Sessions
Offered during the week, and on weekends, studio courses include lively discussion sessions in the galleries and studio time to complete drawing and painting projects. Adults may also participate in intergenerational classes held for students from ages 5 and up!

Adult students draw in LACMA’s permanent collection galleries while learning about composition, color, technique and personal expression.

Adult Art History Classes
A wide variety of art history classes, highlighting both special exhibitions and the permanent collection, are offered throughout the year. Class includes an introduction followed by a private tour of LACMA's galleries and/or special exhibition. Class size is limited so participants have ample opportunity for questions and discussion.

ART CAMP
Spend an exciting week with paint, clay, found objects and much more! Campers have adventurous experiences looking at, talking about, and making art. Presented by a team of fun, creative, and professional museum educators and contemporary artists.
Art Camp Information: Art Camp is from 10 am to 3 pm. and does not offer extended care. Designed for children ages 6 and older, children ages 5 and under will not be admitted. Proof of age is required. Campers must pack a lunch and snack every day to eat during supervised breaks. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited; camp does sell out.

Enrollment Procedures for Art Camp
Enrollment is by online or mail only.
Enrollment forms can be downloaded here.
Payment and proof of age will be required upon registration.
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited.
Art Camp is designed for children ages 6 and older; children ages 5 and under will not be admitted.
Space is limited; camp does sell out.
Registration will not be available by telephone, email, fax, or in person.
We will not accept incomplete enrollment forms or forms that arrive earlier than enrollment start date.

Cancellation Policy
Full refunds will only be granted if the program is cancelled.
Please notify us immediately of any cancellations so that a child on our waiting list can attend camp.
A refund equal to half of tuition paid will be granted for cancellations made three weeks before camp start date.
No refunds for cancellations made less than three weeks prior to camp start date.
Art Class Gift Certificate

LACMA art classes provide unique opportunities to learn about art through studio activities, discussion sessions, and visits to the galleries. Classes focus on artworks in the museum's permanent collection or in special exhibitions. Gift certificates can be purchased on-site at the museum's ticket offices or over the phone at 323 857-6010.
