New Logo Launched

Design for a poster by John Baldessari. © John Baldessari

On December 15, LACMA debuted its new logo, designed by the award-winning design firm 2X4 in collaboration with artist John Baldessari.

2x4, whose clients include SFMOMA, Prada, and Dodger Stadium, worked with Baldessari’s image, which was originally made in the 1960s, and now includes LACMA written on the top with the first L and the last A underlined.

2X4 was tasked with modifying the logo into a typeface that could be used in a variety of settings—the result is displayed in the header of this page.
