Music: Angel City Jazz Festival Featuring the Jeff Parker Quartet

6 pm | Fri, October 6, 2017
BP Grand Entrance

Now in its 10th year, the Angel City Jazz Festival features a special Jazz at LACMA concert with the Jeff Parker Quartet. The group will play a set of original compositions and some personal rearrangements of Thelonious Monk's lesser-known compositions in celebration of Monk’s centennial. Known to many as a guitarist for Chicago post-rock innovators Tortoise, Parker is a highly versatile musician, arranger, composer, and producer who has been a cornerstone of the jazz and experimental music scenes since the early '90s. The concert opens with the winner of the 2017 Young Artist Competition.
