Talk: Gallery Tour: The Art of Looking—Outliers

12:30 pm | Thu, December 13, 2018

Education coordinator Lara Schilling leads this conversation-based tour of the newly opened special exhibition, Outliers and American Vanguard Art, which focuses on key moments in American art history when self-taught and mainstream artists intersected most significantly. Featuring work by more than 80 artists, the exhibition celebrates multiple approaches to artistic expression and challenges traditional hierarchies between insider and outsider, folk art and fine art, and more. Join us for this exciting exploration of American art through a small selection of inspiring, visionary artworks.
