Gallery Course: Caravaggio and Baroque Painting

Saturday, January 5, 2013 | 8:30 am
Sold out

Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio revolutionized painting in seventeenth-century Europe. Bodies and Shadows: Caravaggio and His Legacy gives visitors the unique opportunity to see not only Caravaggio's work (rare in American collections) but also that of his contemporaries, which clearly demonstrates Caravaggio's enormous influence. In this program, Dr. Charlotte Eyerman, art historian and director of FRAME, North America, the group that helped organize and sponsor Caravaggio and His Legacy, will present behind-the-scenes information about putting together such an important exhibition. She will join educator and art historian Mary Lenihan for the private tour of the exhibition that follows.

Brown Auditorium | $35 general admission, $30 members; includes refreshments and parking
