Gallery Course: The Art of Tea (and Coffee)

Saturday, March 2, 2013 | 9 am
Sold out

Has a wildly popular public television program about English aristocrats spurred your interest in their sumptuous surroundings and practices, including "taking tea?" Enjoy a morning exploring the museum galleries, looking at paintings, furniture, and other permanent collection objects that filled English and French country homes and elegant townhouses. See those art works, plus the special exhibition Daily Pleasures: French Ceramics from the MaryLou Boone Collection, while learning how coffee and tea were first introduced into European culture. After the tour, you will enjoy a tea-and-coffee service, including scones and pastries, along with commentary by food historian Maite Gomez-Rejón, who will lead the tour along with museum educator Mary Lenihan.
