Gallery Discussion: The Art of Looking

Join museum educator Kristin Bengtson for a one-hour facilitated gallery discussion exploring East Asian lacquer in LACMA’s permanent collection. Lacquer, a material unique to Asia, has been used from ancient times to the present to protect and decorate a range of objects, including furniture, boxes, trays, and bowls. Discover the different styles and techniques that developed over time in China, Korea, and Japan.
