Yona Warmin of Hiromi Paper Inc. and LACMA conservator Soko Furuhata introduce the world of papermaking by discussing and comparing the histories and methods of handmade paper in Japan and the Western world. In addition, Ms. Warmin discusses some of the collaborative projects between Hiromi Paper Inc. and contemporary artists, such as Richard Serra, in creating their masterpieces, and Ms. Furuhata explains how Japanese paper is used in the field of Western art conservation.
