LACMA’s Latin Sounds series inaugurates its 2014 season with one of the West Coast’s hottest salsa bands, Johnny Polanco y Su Conjunto Amistad. As one of the most sought-after band leaders in the U.S, he has gained the distinction for making the type of contagious Latin music that is truly appreciated by salsa dancers worldwide. Polanco has been performing concerts the world over for nearly 35 years and has worked with such artists as Cachao, Tito Puente, Jr., Charlie Zaa, Ray De La Paz, Tito Nieves, and many others.
