Thank you to all those that made the eleventh annual Young Directors Night a success. A packed house enjoyed seven short films screened in LACMA's Bing Theater, followed by a conversation between the filmmakers and the host panel—Los Angeles Film Festival Senior Programmer Maggie Mackay, LACMA Film Curator Elvis Mitchell, and Film Independent Co-President Josh Welsh. The event culminated in a reception at 5900 Wilshire that featured experimental films, live music by Alice Underground, gourmet popcorn, classic candy, and refreshing cocktails.

Director Richard Parkin and his film Contra El Mar topped the vote of the audience and host panel to win the fifth annual Art of Film Award, taking home an all-access pass to the Los Angeles Film Festival and a beautiful trophy.

Our utmost gratitude to all the directors for creating such wonderful films and agreeing to participate in YDN. Check out images fron the night in the slideshow below.
