Talk: Laurie Simmons: “Sarah Charlesworth: The Story of Her Life”

Artist, filmmaker, and long-time friend Laurie Simmons will offer insight into the life and work of Sarah Charlesworth by tracing her trajectory from the serial newspaper works of the late 1970s to her final images poignantly titled Available Light. Lavishly illustrated with personal photographs from Simmons’s collection, this talk will explore Charlesworth’s life, career, and the shifting scene of women artists working with photography over the last 40 years in New York City.
