Muse 'til Midnight feat. Tycho and the Silver Lake Chorus
Join hundreds of art lovers this summer for the ultimate late-night party at LACMA. The evening begins at Chris Burden’s Urban Light, where design collective ISO50 sets the scene with guest opener Willits at 8 pm, followed by a DJ set by Tycho until 10 pm. Then surround yourself with the gorgeous sounds of The Silver Lake Chorus, an indie-rock choir performing live inside Van Gogh to Kandinsky and John Altoon. Plus, preview Marsden Hartley the night before it opens to the public!
About the Artists
Tycho (San Francisco–based artist and designer Scott Hansen) has been creating dreamy techno music for over a decade—and he’s taking a night off from his international AWAKE Tour to spin at LACMA with one of his closest collaborators.
Willits (San Francisco–based multimedia artist Christopher Willits) is an electronic music and guitar pioneer, composer, producer, photographer, filmmaker, and system designer whose lush soundscapes have previously filled the halls of the California Academy of Sciences, the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, and much more.
The Silver Lake Chorus, appearing at LACMA for the first time, has been blending community choral singing and indie rock and roll since 2010. They’ve spent the past year recording new tracks written exclusively for the Chorus by the likes of Tegan and Sara, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, the Flaming Lips, and more.
