Screening & Talk: Waiting for Brainard

Art Catalogues, George Porcari and Tif Sigfrids would be delighted to have you join them for a screening of the Sigfrids/Porcari collaboration Waiting for Brainard, and a discussion between the filmmakers and Russell Ferguson, Chair of the Department of Art at UCLA. George Porcari is an artist and writer whose essays on film and photography have been published in CineAction, Soma, NY Arts, and Inflatable magazines, among others. His work has been shown in Los Angeles at China Art Objects, Mandarin, and Shoshana Wayne Galleries and has also been included in exhibitions in New York, Vienna, London, and Copenhagen. A collection of essays on photography will be published by Semiotext(e) in the fall of 2012. Tif Sigfrids is an artist who lives and works in Los Angeles, making performances and movies (often times in collaboration with George Porcari.) Their movies have been screened at various locations in Los Angeles, New York, London, and Copenhagen and she has made performances throughout the US and Europe. In addition, Tif is the co-founder of two non-profit art spaces Rio Bravo (Copenhagen) and Hop Louie LA (Los Angeles).
