Talk: Sofreh: The Art of Persian Celebration

Join us on Saturday, February 3, at 2 PM, for an illustrated lecture by Dr. Touraj Daryaee, Director, Samuel M. Jordan Center for Persian Studies, UC Irvine on sofreh, the artful and often highly elaborate arrangement of flowers, condiments, and objects of spiritual or cultural importance displayed at Persian ceremonies, such as Nowruz. Dr. Daryaee will be joined by Maryam Khosrowshahi, co-author SOFREH: The Art of Persian Celebration (in collaboration with Dr. Willem Floor and Parviz Tanavoli). The lecture will be followed by a book-signing and reception.
