You Only Live Twice
You probably feel like you’ve already seen You Only Live Twice, even if you’ve never laid eyes on it. The volcano lair, the tumescent rocket, the disco-owner kimono attire worn by a villain stroking a white feline (Mike Myers and Jay Roach took a hefty spoonful of notions and images from this movie and ladled them onto Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery). Roald Dahl, a close of friend of Ian Fleming, made his screenwriting debut with You Only Live Twice. This time, Bond’s (Sean Connery) mission is to disappear so that he can destroy Ernst Stavro Blofeld’s (Donald Pleasance) plan to force the United States and the Soviet Union into a nuclear war.
