Founded for the purpose of developing individual and community-wide appreciation and knowledge of the art of photography, the Photographic Arts Council is designed to benefit both its members and the museum by raising the visibility and awareness of photography in Los Angeles. Members are invited to a series of informal artists' studio tours and private dinners at local collectors' homes, as well as private receptions following the public photo lectures held in conjunction with LACMA exhibitions.
