The Prints and Drawings Council encourages appreciation in the field of original works of art on paper. Programs include lectures, private exhibition tours, museum and gallery receptions, gallery and artist studio visits, demonstrations of printing processes, and field trips. Funds raised by the PDC throughout the year are used to acquire significant works on paper for the department. In its more than forty years of existence, the council has helped the Department of Prints and Drawings acquire some of its most important works on paper, by a who's who of great artists, including Bonnard, Rembrandt, Man Ray, and Jasper Johns.
