Wet Paint: Sunday in the Park with Art
Roxbury Park
June 1 | 10–4 pm
Attendees can watch works of art created live by some of Southern California's best artists, many of whom are represented by the AMC's unique Art Rental & Sales Gallery, located at the museum. The artists will be working in acrylic, oil, ink, pastel, watercolor, and the artworks may be purchased that day. In addition, a number of the artists will be participating in "Quick Draw," in which they will paint or draw for one hour, interpreting a particular subject. The artworks created will be available for an opportunity drawing that day. Wet Paint will also feature an impressive silent auction of artworks created by noted Southern California artists. Wet Paint will take place in Roxbury Park, on the grassy area near the park's Recreation Center.
Roxbury Park, 471 S. Roxbury Drive, Beverly Hills 90210 | Free | In case of rain, the event will be cancelled. Street Parking will be available. Please call 323 857-6287 for further information.

Searching for Clarity—Exhibition Opening
First Level, Bing Center
June 6 | 6:30-8:30 pm
In Searching for Clarity, four abstract artists remind us of how we navigate through life’s confusion, seeking meaning. Karin Aggeler paints with acrylic on canvas to express forms and landscapes, memories and moods, to reflect and embrace the experiences and visions of the viewer. Photographer Richard Chow crafts a style that melds technical precision with compelling interpretative content to invoke a cognitive emotional connection. The simplistic imagery in Bruce Dean’s current series of spheres, conjunctions, and eclipses uses mixed media on paper to tap into the memories and ideas we all share at a subconscious level. Gold leaf and oil on layers of plexiglas is the ideal medium for obscuring and revealing as Valerie Mendez invites the viewer to look closer and deeper, through to the bottom of things.
The public is invited to attend the opening night reception for these exhibitions, where guests can meet the artists and mingle with other visitors. The convivial gatherings are held in the Art Rental & Sales Gallery from 6:30–8:30 pm. Refreshments are served. Please call 323 857-6500 for further information.
