Prints and Drawings Council

Prints and Drawings Council

Established in 1965, the Prints and Drawings Council (PDC) supports the Prints and Drawings Department at LACMA. In addition to raising funds for acquisitions for the museum's permanent collection, the PDC encourages collecting, scholarship, and appreciation in the field of original works of art on paper.

Through its Commissioned Print Program, the PDC has commissioned editions of new works on paper by established artists from around the globe. A print from each of the commissioned editions is given to the Prints and Drawings Department's permanent collection. Members of the public may purchase commissioned prints through the LACMA Shop. LACMA members receive a 10% discount on the public price, and PDC members receive a discount of 30%.

The PDC offers many social and educational opportunities throughout the year, such as curatorial lectures, visits to artists' studios and print workshops, and private collection tours. We encourage you to join us by becoming a PDC member.
