Teen art classes, designed especially for this age group, present fundamental approaches to art. Students learn a variety of techniques and develop their own styles.

Weekend Classes
Large Scale Mixed Media
Five Saturdays, May 30, June 6, 13, 20, 27 | 11 am–1 pm
Students: get ready to work large! Create really big mixed media drawings by combining on-site sketches with other art media. With artist Earnest Merritt.

Life Drawing
Five Sundays, September 13, October 4, 11, 18, 25 | 12:30–3:30 pm
Learn basic drawing and painting skills while working from live artist models. Each week features a different model in a different themed costume. You will use a variety of materials on paper, including inks, acrylic paints, and pastels in this fun and lively class. All levels are welcome. Taught by artist Rosanne Kleinerman.

Digital Photography: Visual Storytelling
Five Saturdays, October 31, November 7, 14, 21, December 5 |
11 am–1:30 pm
Learn to use your digital camera and to incorporate the essential elements of art such as composition, framing, point of view, and symbolism in your photographs. Inspired by LACMA's permanent collection, creative assignments, and music, explore the art of photography and visual storytelling. With artist Paola M. Davila.

Art School Ready: Building Your Art Portfolio
Monday–Friday, June 22–July 17 | 11 am–2:30 pm
This four-week intensive class with artist Michael Wright focuses on figure drawing from nude models, color theory, and self-portraits to create a comprehensive portfolio geared for art school applications.

Water Soluble Oil Painting

No prior art-making experience is necessary.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Enrollment is limited to 12 participants.

All art supplies will be provided for the class.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes.

Refunds will only be granted if the class is canceled. Refunds cannot be given in the case of a missed class or if you elect to withdraw from the class after it has begun.
