Intergenerational Classes for Students ages 5 to 105

Perfect for families or adults on their own, intergenerational classes present to students of nearly all ages the opportunity to learn about art and make art at the museum together.

One-Day Workshop: Daily Life in Pompeii
Saturday, June 27 | 9–11 am  SOLD OUT
Travel back in time to ancient Rome with a private tour of the exhibition Pompeii and the Roman Villa: Art and Culture around the Bay of Naples. Discover the importance of art and food in Pompeii then head to the studio to create your very own mosaic and to taste a recipe from the first cookbook ever written, the 400 AD De re coquinaria (On Cooking) with educator and chef Maite Gomez-Rejon.
NexGen members plus one adult $50; nonmembers plus one adult $60
Art materials and parking fees included in tuition; limited enrollment.

  • No prior art-making experience is necessary.
  • To enroll, call the LACMA box office at 323 857-6010 or send in the Class Enrollment Form.
  • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Limited enrollment.
  • All art supplies will be provided for the class.
  • We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes.
  • Refunds will only be granted if the class is canceled. Refunds cannot be given in the case of a missed class or if you elect to withdraw from the class after it has begun.
