Young Directors Night

March 6 | 6:00 pm–midnight
The Eigth Annual Young Director's Night is approaching fast! The celebration of film will feature eight shorts this year. The movies will be competing for the second annual Art of Film award, to be determined by a host committee—a panel of four luminaries—along with you, the audience. The schedule of activities includes:

Cocktail Hour @ A+D Museum
6-7:30 pm

Mingle with fellow attendees at the A+D Museum, located directly across the street from LACMA, for complimentary drinks provided by Kenwood Winery and hors d’oeuvres catered by Border Grill & Ciudad Catering. The food selections for the evening are:

Homemade Tortilla Chips
Border Salsa Trio
: tomatillo, roja, and smoky chipotle salsas
Plantain Chips: with aji amarillo aioli
Savory Stuffed Dates: bite size and wrapped with applewood smoked bacon stuffed with cabrales cheese and spanish chorizo
Ceviche Tostaditas: marinated with lime, ginger, red onion, and yellow pepper; served on crispy corn tortilla rounds with mashed avocado and cracked black pepper oil
Quinoa on Endive: cool salad of aztec grain, cucumber, tomato, parsley, scallion, and mint; dressed in light red wine vinaigrette
Citrus Marinated Chicken Skewers: marinated in an achiote, citrus, and jalapeño puree; served with avocado tomatillo sauce

Film Program + Q&A @ LACMA's Bing Theater
7:30-10:30 pm

Muse is very proud to present eight excellent short films, followed by a panel discussion with the directors. Approximate running time 120 minutes with a 15-minute intermission. Films may contain adult themes and language unsuitable for children. Viewer discretion is advised. This year's film program features:

Symphony by Erick Oh: A sentient creature tries to escape from a reality of being swept away and assimilated into the mainstream, regardless of its own will.
Becoming Roman by Nathan Morse: A classic tale of the struggle of power to escape seemingly preordained roles and the fragile reality of an existential being.
El Ojo Unico by Adrian Castagna: Set in 2068 Buenos Aires, a motorcycle messenger is sent to the TV corporation Grupo Crinal, where he stumbles upon a truth that will change his life forever.
Little Canyon by Olivia Silver: Promising a California paradise, Greta's dad is moving the family and packing half the household into a dented station wagon; all that's missing is Mom.
La Milonga by Francesca Di Amico: A young virtuous woman wanders into a Milonga dance hall, and meets the number one Milonguero. She must decide if she is ready to enter his world.
Three-Fifty by Maurice Chauvet: A man who attempts to con his way out of paying a $3.50 late fee for renting a movie gets more than he bargained for when he is caught in the lie.
Lucy: A Period Piece by Julie Sagalowsky: A tiny and shapeless sixteen-year-old girl desperate to finally enter puberty experiences the joy that is high school.
Zombie Prom by Vince Marcello: A 1950s horror comic book brought to life as a musical comedy. It is a campy, rollicking romp through America's "Atomic Age" and the "Golden Age" of horror comic books.
