Tours

The museum offers a wide variety of tours throughout the week that provide a great way for individuals, groups, and schools to explore exhibitions and the permanent collection. For details please visit our upcoming talks, calendar, and tours pages.


Gallery Access

Due to LACMA's ongoing Transformation Project, works from some of the collections are temporarily not available for viewing. They are:

  • African Art
  • Chinese Art
  • Costume and Textiles
  • Ancient Art (Egypt, Ancient Near East)

We invite you to visit the following new and recently reinstalled galleries:

  • European Paintings, Sculpture, Decorative Arts, and Greco-Roman sculpture—many galleries are now open with more on the way | level 3, Ahmanson Building
  • Art of the Pacific | level 1, Ahmanson Building
  • Korean Art | plaza level, Hammer Building

Museum Maps

To make the most of your visit be sure to pick up a free LACMA Map, available at Welcome Centers in the BP Grand Entrance and L.A. Times Central Court. Also check out the online maps available here.


Photography Policy

Visitors to permanent collection galleries are welcome to take photographs or video for personal use provided that no tripods or flash lighting is used. The taking of photographs and videos, however, is not permitted in special exhibitions.


Wireless Service

LACMA visitors with laptops or web-enabled cellphones can now access the web via free Wi-Fi, extending from LACMA West to the plaza cafe at LACMA East.
