Spend an exciting week with paint, clay, found objects and more! Campers have adventurous experiences looking at, talking about, and making art with a team of fun and creative museum educators and artists.  Get ready to enroll for Summer Art Camp on April 2!

  • Week 1: Upcycled, Recycled Art
    Monday-Friday, June 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 SOLD OUT
    Step outside our conventional approach to art making and discover Noah Purifoy’s found object assemblage artwork. Compare Purifoy’s outsider art with more recognized artists such as Picasso, Cornell and Duchamp, and expand your definition of art. Sculpt pieces with found and recycled materials and collaborate with your fellow artists in creating socially conscious forms. With artist Caitlin Lainoff.

  • Week 2: Adventures in Bookbinding SOLD OUT
    Monday-Friday, July 13, 14, 15, 16, 17
    Taking inspiration from artwork in LACMA’s permanent collection and special exhibit, Drawing in LA: 1960s and 70s, students will create artist books using various techniques and styles, including accordion, tunnel and pop-up. Embellish the books incorporating traditional mediums of drawing, printmaking, and collage. With artist Valentina Mogilevskaya.

  • Week 3: Faces, Places, and Inner Spaces
    Monday-Friday, July 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 SOLD OUT
    Express your views on the world through the art you make. Combine color, shape, texture, symbols, images and words to create meaningful and evocative 2-D and 3-D works, from artist books, to printmaking, and sculpture and more. With artist Heather Conyers.

Enrollment Procedures for Art Camp
Registration for Summer Art Camp is by mail only.  Mail must be postmarked on April 2, 2015 or after.
Payment and proof of age for 6 year olds will be required and must accompany your enrollment form.  Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited; camp does sell out.  Print and complete the Art Camp Enrollment Form.  Registration will not be available by telephone, email, fax, or in person.  Art Camp is designed for children ages 6 and older; children ages 5 and under will not be admitted.  Incomplete forms will not be accepted.  Please do not mail forms early.  Enrollment forms postmarked before April 2, 2015 will not be accepted or registered.

Art Camp Information
Art Camp is from 10 am to 3 pm. LACMA does not offer extended care. Campers must pack a lunch and snack every day to eat during supervised breaks. Art materials and parking validation included in tuition.  Please call the Education Department at 323 857-6512 for more information.

Cancellation Policy
Full refunds will only be granted if the program is cancelled. Please notify us immediately of any cancellations so that a child on our waiting list can attend camp. A refund equal to half of tuition paid will be granted for cancellations made three weeks before camp start date. No refunds for cancellations made less than three weeks prior to camp start date.
