LACMA’s Creative Classroom program is ready to visit your 3rd and 4th-grade classrooms! In this free in-person program, LACMA Teaching Artists conduct four visual arts workshops for all 3rd and 4th-grade classes at your school (including magnet and SDC). The program will stay in residence anywhere from two to four weeks depending on class enrollment.

Applications are received on a rolling basis. Eligible schools must be Title 1, reside in Los Angeles County, and agree to have all 3rd and 4th-grade classes on campus participate in the program.

Apply for the 2025–26 school year. Questions? Contact ltorres@lacma.org.

Bring LACMA to your school with our two 48-foot Mobile Classroom trailers—the Ancient World Mobile and Maya Mobile!

These Mobile Classrooms travel to schools across Los Angeles county, offering object-handling and art-making workshops to sixth and seventh-grade classes. During our visit, students will examine real objects from LACMA’s collection and create art based on the cultures and traditions of Early World Cultures (sixth grade) or the Ancestral Americas (seventh grade).

This in-person program offers workshops for all sixth or seventh-grade classes at the participating school (including General, SDC, ELD, Honors, Magnet, etc.), and will stay in residence anywhere from one week to one month depending on size of school enrollment. This program is free for any Title 1 school located in Los Angeles County.

Apply to request the Ancient World Mobile or Maya Mobile at your school for the 2025–26 academic year.

We also offer Virtual Object Handling and Art-Making workshops via Zoom for any schools or classes unable to host in-person programming.
