Hear from KAOS Network founder and artist Ben Caldwell and REDCAT curator Jheanelle Brown, who will expand on the themes of the exhibition The Brockman Gallery: Los Angeles, 1967–1990, which examines the historic gallery’s importance in nurturing the careers of young artists of color.
At this screening of Caldwell’s documentary For Whose Entertainment (1979), they will reflect on his role in shaping South L.A.'s artistic landscape and the enduring legacy of artist-run spaces, community media, and cultural organizing that the exhibition celebrates.
