When you live in a big city, it's easy to forget we're surrounded by nature. Draw inspiration from artists who care about the planet and find their art media in their environment such as Betye Saar and Michael C. McMillen. Campers will use recycled and plant material to make collages, sculptures, paintings, and more! Taught by Ivana Torres.
This program will take place outdoors on LACMA's campus, Monday–Friday, June 12–16.
About the Instructor
Ivana Torres is a Mexican American Los Angeles–based multidisciplinary artist. She is a CSUDH graduate with a BA in Studio Art and hopes to soon obtain her MFA. Torres primarily composes monochromatic graphite and ink pieces, and has been known to work with many different concepts in her art, including but not limited to the branches of life/death and spirituality. Although her preference is towards fine lines, Torres is set on having her creations take on many different styles throughout her career.
Masks are strongly recommended indoors for everyone. Learn more about all of the museum's health and safety protocols.
