Art + Music: Tonal Variations featuring Gerald Clayton, piano

  • Date:
  • Time: 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM
  • Location: David Geffen Galleries
  • Price: $35, Members: $30

Exploring the deep kinship between photography and music, this special Art & Music concert will take place in the new DGG Gallery and feature renowned pianist Gerald Clayton. The 4x GRAMMY nominated piano player and composer will perform a varied program of music connected to the exhibition's photographers, including Ansel Adams, William Eggleston, and Lisette Model. The music will range from classical repertoire to jazz standards and improvisations. The concert takes its cue from Ansel Adams, who trained as a pianist before turning fully to the camera and later drew on that musical discipline to develop his Zone System, translating tonal range into a kind of visual notation.
