It’s time to celebrate together! Twenty years in the making, the David Geffen Galleries have opened to widespread acclaim. So we’re closing our block of Wilshire and throwing a party for every Angeleno.

LACMA’s all-day Block Party is the biggest celebration we’ve ever hosted—featuring free admission to the entire museum, family-friendly art activities inspired by the museum’s collection spanning centuries and cultures, live music and DJ sets throughout the day bringing funk and old-school house, cumbia, and beachfront surf vibes, and a hand-selected restaurant showcase spotlighting L.A.’s diverse food culture. 

The day also includes a special edition of our popular Latin Sounds concert series with one of the premier soneros in L.A. The spectacular Art Parade will fill Wilshire Boulevard with sights and sensations by famous and soon-to-be-famous local artists. Plus a few surprises to make this all-ages party unforgettable. 

Come wander with us and make your first memories in L.A.’s newest icon. LACMA is your museum—together we’ll make it our living room. Welcome, everyone!

Free tickets are available now for all LACMA galleries, including the new David Geffen Galleries. A ticket in hand does not guarantee entry. Entry to galleries and buildings may be controlled for capacity.
