Evenings for Educators: Welcome to the David Geffen Galleries

Evenings for Educators is back for the 2026–27 school year, and we have so much in store for you! Join us at LACMA all year long as we explore artworks in the David Geffen Galleries, the new home of the museum’s permanent collection that the L.A. Times calls “radically alive.”
In October, director of gallery learning Gabriela Martinez will share the exciting curatorial vision behind the building’s display and introduce key themes and ideas to help you navigate the galleries. She’ll also share information about LACMA’s school tour offerings for the 2026–27 academic year; don’t forget to enter the raffle at registration to win a school tour and a free bus!
You will also have the unique opportunity to explore the David Geffen Galleries and its incredible vistas at sunset. Choose a guided experience with one of our gallery educators, or create your own unique path with the support of our self-guided tour materials.
Guests will enjoy a special talk, tours, and dinner. Dinner and parking is included with admission.
Agenda
4:30–5 pm: Arrive, check in on the Smidt Welcome Plaza, and explore the David Geffen Galleries
5–5:40 pm: Lecture on the East West Bank Commons with director of gallery learning Gabriela Martinez
5:50–6:50 pm: Guided and self-guided experiences in the David Geffen Galleries
6:50–8 pm: Dinner on the W.M. Keck Plaza
6:50–8 pm: Extended gallery viewing
