Introduction to Tsutsumi: The Art of Wrapping

Inspired by the exhibition Textile Alchemy: The Art of Reiko Sudō & NUNO, discover the history and motifs of Japanese gift wrapping—from the structured paper folds of origata to the versatile fabric wrapping of furoshiki—and how these intentional practices embody respect and care. At this workshop, you’ll learn how to use traditional folding techniques, creative stitching, and decorative binding to create your own beautifully crafted, reusable fabric gift wrap to take home.
