Over the course of his historic career, percussionist Luis Conte has traveled world performing with such legends as Pat Metheny, Phil Collins, Ray Charles, Santana, James Taylor, and Cachao, in addition to leading his own band. Born in Santiago, Cuba, Luis spent his early days soaking up the rich musical heritage of “El Son” and Carnival. From there he developed a passion for rock, R&B, and jazz. He has been awarded “Percussionist of the Year” for four years straight by Modern Drummer’s Readers Poll.
