Join us for the LACMA presentation of a feature-length documentary that chronicles the challenging life and times of internationally celebrated Korean-born artist Nam June Paik (1936–2006), a pillar of the American avant-garde in the 20th century. Often referred to as the “Father of Video Art,” Paik coined the term “Electronic Superhighway'' long before the internet was omnipresent, and heavily influenced generations of artists in all genres.
This special presentation of Nam June Paik: Moon Is the Oldest TV brings together the film's narrator and executive producer Steven Yeun, producer Jennifer Stockman, and LACMA CEO and Wallis Annenberg Director Michael Govan for a night of insightful conversation about this icon of the American avant-garde.
