Surrounded by the artworks in Realms of the Dharma: Buddhist Art Across Asia, master Tibetan singing bowl artists and musicians Michael & Jahna Perricone and Shakti Armstrong will offer an immersive sound experience using singing bowls and resonant instruments, inviting you to slow down, listen deeply, and engage with the exhibition through mindful contemplation.
Participants are welcome to bring yoga mats or blankets for their comfort. A limited number of stools will also be available.
Michael & Jahna Perricone weave mindfulness, music, and the luminous tones of rare antique Himalayan singing bowls into experiences that calm the mind, open the heart, and rekindle creative connection, bridging the ancient with the modern through Jahna’s gentle mindfulness guidance and ethereal vocals alongside Michael’s masterful artistry with singing bowls, guitar, and sound design. Jahna is a certified UCLA Mindfulness Awareness Facilitator through UCLA's MARC and the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior and director of mindfulness programs at C3 (Center for Conscious Creatives). Michael is a master ancient Himalayan singing bowl artist, award-winning sound mixer and supervisor, and musician.
Shakti Armstrong is a certified Mindfulness Facilitator through UCLA's MARC, a division of the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, and a member of the International Mindfulness Teacher’s Association. As co-founder of Bodhisattva Trading Company in 1996, Armstrong was one of the first direct importers of Tibetan singing bowls in the US. She has guided multiple generations of healing arts practitioners, sound therapists, musicians, medical professionals, clergy, teachers, yogis, and people from all walks of life to discover singing bowls and harness their power as transformational tools.
