This new multi-year partnership with Genesis will generate innovative programming at the museum that deepens our connections to local and global audiences. As the first step in our collaboration, we are launching The Genesis Talks—quarterly conversations that will bring together some of the most influential cultural leaders shaping how we see and experience art today.

December 4 | 7 pm
Jeff Koons and Michael Govan
The inaugural talk features artist Jeff Koons, whose Split-Rocker (2000) was recently acquired by LACMA, reflecting on how monumental outdoor works activate public space and inspire new ways of seeing.

January 16 | 7 pm
Mark Bradford, Darren Walker, and Michael Govan
This edition of The Genesis Talks features Darren Walker and Los Angeles artist Mark Bradford. In conversation with Govan, they will share insights on the museum as a vibrant community hub, exploring how spaces can ignite dialogue, creativity, and connection.

April 22 | 7 pm
Peter Zumthor and Michael Govan
This edition of The Genesis Talks welcomes the public to the East West Bank Plaza, in the shade of LACMA's new David Geffen Galleries, for a dynamic conversation with Swiss architect Peter Zumthor. Govan and Zumthor will dive into the design of the Geffen Galleries, exploring light, space, and the power of architecture to shape the museum experience.

The Genesis Talks is presented by Genesis.
