Discover the Miracle Mile. Make the most of your visit to LACMA by exploring beyond the museum campus. This storied stretch of Wilshire Boulevard—at the midpoint of the street’s 14-mile span from downtown to the beach—offers a wide range of delights and diversions for all ages. Your time in our galleries is just the beginning.

LACMA is located in Hancock Park, 22 acres of park land created in 1924 when George Allan Hancock donated this portion of what once was Rancho La Brea to the County of Los Angeles. Linger over a picnic on the grass, explore the shaded pathways, and discover many sites of paleontological interest. Just watch out for tar bubbling up from the ground—long a defining element of this area (la brea means tar in Spanish).

A block down or across Wilshire, you'll find food offerings at the local museums and in the office building housing some of the LACMA offices.
