Professor Tom Hare of Princeton University will explore this question by examining a stunning 18th-century album from LACMA’s collection featuring poems and paintings by Tosa Mitsunari. Join us for an intimate look at this rare album, on view during the presentation, to discover how artists and poets of the past used their work to find solace and inspiration in the face of adversity.
