Unwind at a leisurely guided movement session inspired by the bold gestures of Abstract Expressionist painters as we explore works from LACMA’s modern art collection. Hope Spears of the Los Angeles Dance Project will lead simple, mindful practices that will invite you to notice your body and be present in the moment.
Participants begin with an artwork close-looking session with a LACMA educator before mindful movement exploration. Comfortable clothing is recommended. Water is not permitted in the galleries but may be left outside. Participants are welcome to take breaks as needed.
Hope Spears (she/her) trained in West Palm Beach, Florida, before earning her BFA in Dance from George Mason University. While dancing for LA Dance Project she has performed works by Benjamin Millepied, Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber, Idio Chichava, Janie Taylor, Jobel Medina, Madeline Hollander, Pam Tanowitz, and Rauf Yasit.
