Hear from LACMA curator Alexandra Kaczenski at an in-depth exploration of the artistic friendships and networks that shaped the exhibitionVillage Square: Gifts of Modern Art from the Pearlman Collection to the Brooklyn Museum, LACMA, and MoMA. We will focus on the people and places that inspired avant-garde artists in the late-19th and early 20th centuries, from the creative collaboration between Camille Pissarro and Paul Cézanne to Amedeo Modigliani's community of immigrant artists in Paris, to consider how they played a pivotal role in the development of Post-Impressionist and modern art.
This exhibition was co-organized by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Museum.
