Learn about the art of the Japanese tea ceremony with Kaoru Kuribayashi, tea practitioner and arts and culture program coordinator at the Japan Foundation, Los Angeles, who will lead a tasting session focused on tea preparation, ceramics, and everyday ritual inspired by works on view in the David Geffen Galleries

Kaoru Kuribayashi is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, curator, and Arts and Culture Program Coordinator at The Japan Foundation, Los Angeles (JFLA). Trained in Chanoyu (Japanese tea ceremony) since the age of ten, her practice spans tea, fabric, performance, and meditative installation, exploring how traditional arts can cultivate slowness, embodied attention, and cross-cultural resonance through micro-gestures and sensory precision.

This program is part of Third Weekends at LACMA, a monthly line up of free and ticketed programs inspired by our collection and special exhibitions.
