Jazz at LACMA: Janis Mann

Celebrate L.A.'s finest jazz musicians with Jazz at LACMA, presented Friday evenings from May through October. This week, join us for a concert with Janis Mann. 

At once a striking song stylist and a fearless improviser, vocalist Janis Mann is a rare artist who can sweep you away with her captivating sound. She is a true jazz singer in the manner of Carmen McRae, Betty Carter, and Shirley Horn with a sound all her own. In addition to working with the great pianist Kenny Werner on two outstanding recording projects, Mann has performed with Diane Schuur, Roy Haynes, Terrell Stafford, John Clayton, the Caribbean Jazz Project, and other jazz luminaries. Mann is a Los Angeles favorite who performs often in New York, notably at the Blue Note, Dizzy's, and the Kitano.
