Drummer, producer and songwriter Gengis Don combines the worlds of hip hop and jazz to create the music for Gengis Don & The Empire. He has worked with a wide array of musicians including Roy Hargrove, Solange, Christian McBride, Marquis Hill, and Steve Turre. He has toured the world, playing at Ronnie Scott’s in London, the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, and Scullers in Boston.

Celebrate the closing of Nature on Notice: Contemporary Art and Ecology and spend an afternoon in the Zukunft Garten—a radical solarpunk garden—featuring conversations with artists from the exhibition, hands-on art-making, and music. Bring clothing to upcycle at our pop-up silkscreen station and take part in creative activities inspired by the intersection of art and ecology.

We’re celebrating Digital Witness: Revolutions in Design, Photography, and Film before it closes with a digitally inspired dance party featuring music from Grammy-nominated artist TOKiMONSTA and large-scale projection mapping by Grammy-nominated artist Andrew Thomas Huang.
Join LACMA Teaching Artists for an open-air sketching session exploring the museum’s new architecture and sculpture garden. A brief tour introduces the site, followed by guided prompts to observe light, form, and atmosphere. Materials provided; all skill levels welcome.
