Explore water as a powerful force in both nature and art. Through looking at artworks in LACMA’s galleries, hands‑on studio projects, and creative discussions, we'll discover how artists across cultures have represented oceans, rivers, rain, and water rituals, then experiment with drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and storytelling to create original artworks that reflect water’s beauty, movement, and importance to life on Earth. Taught by artist Beatriz Jaramillo
Learn unique skills in a creative environment at this introduction to textile arts. After exploring LACMA’s permanent collection and special exhibitions for inspiration and to ignite creativity, we'll explore various hands-on processes like weaving, mending with patches, fabric collage, embroidery, and other fiber art techniques. Taught by artist Connie Rohman.
Many artists find inspiration in their everyday life—waiting at a bus stop, playing your favorite sport, or noticing small moments during the day can all become the starting point for art. We'll explore these moments and transform them into sculptures, watercolors, and a collaborative zine at a fun and creative space for curious minds and imaginative spirits to turn ordinary moments into big creations! Taught by artist Patricia Yossen.
