Spend an exciting week with paint, clay, found objects and more! Campers have adventurous experiences looking at, talking about, and making art with a team of fun and creative museum educators and artists. Enrollment opens on March 23.


Children Ages 6 to 9

These week-long workshops introduce techniques that teach campers to express themselves through drawing, painting, and mixed media. Each day includes fun gallery activities and the viewing of original works of art, a one-hour lunch break, and creative studio projects.

  • Photography for Tweens SOLD OUT
    Monday-Friday, June 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 10 am–3 pm
    Learn to use your digital camera and to incorporate the essential elements of art such as composition, framing, point of view, and symbolism in your photographs. Inspired by LACMA's permanent collection and creative assignments. Explore the art of photography and visual storytelling.  All camera formats are welcome.

  • Experimental Art Lab SOLD OUT
    Monday-Friday, July 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 10 am–3 pm
    Learn techniques for layering, scratching, rubbing, photography and painting as you experiment with unusual materials. Play with paint, including spray paint, ink, pastels, collage, and more! With artist Gloria Westcott.

  • Art+Fashion SOLD OUT
    Monday-Friday, July 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 10 am–3 pm
    Explore how fashion affects our everyday lives and how it is an art form all its own. By looking at clothes for both women and men through the ages and across different cultures, students will be inspired to design their own items that serve both fashion and function. Projects will include illustration, designing clothes based on LACMA artwork, making hats, jewelry, textiles, and more. Special exhibit toured will be Reigning Men: Fashion in Menswear, 1715-2015. With artist Valentina Mogilevskaya Quezada.

Enrollment Procedures for Art Camp

  • Online enrollment begins on March 23, at 12 p.m.
  • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited; camp does sell out.
  • Art Camp is designed for children ages 6 and older; children ages 5 and under will not be admitted. Proof of age will be required.
  • Registration is only available online.
  • Payment is required upon registration.
  • Once you’ve registered, you will receive an email confirmation letter plus a link to a consent form. Carefully read through the consent form. Please submit a separate Consent Form for each participant.

Tuition for Summer Art Camp 2016

Logistic Information

  • Art Camp is from 10 am to 3 pm. LACMA does not offer extended care.
  • Campers must pack a lunch and snack every day to eat during supervised breaks.
  • Art materials and parking validation included in tuition.

Cancellation Policy
A refund equal to half of tuition paid will be granted for cancellations made two weeks before camp start date. No refunds will be made for cancellations made less than two weeks prior to camp start date. Please notify us immediately of any cancellations so that a child on our waiting list can attend camp. Full refunds will only be granted if the program is cancelled.
