Spend an exciting week with paint, clay, found objects and more! Campers have adventurous experiences looking at, talking about, and making art with a team of fun and creative museum educators and artists. Enrollment opens on March 15.


Children Ages 6 to 9

These week-long workshops introduce techniques that teach campers to express themselves through drawing, painting, and mixed media. Each day includes fun gallery activities and the viewing of original works of art, a one-hour lunch break, and creative studio projects.

Children Ages 10 through 13

  • Printmaking and Photomontage
    Monday-Friday, June 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 10 am–3 pm
    In this class students will explore the exhibition Moholy-Nagy: Present and Light and works from LACMA's permanent collection for inspiration. Learn various printmaking techniques including dry point, layering, and mixed media. Experiment with unusual materials such as vinyl, contact paper, transparencies, and spray paint. Create posters, photomontage, prints, and sun prints. With artist Gloria Westcott
  • Photography for Tweens
    Monday-Friday, June 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 10 am–3 pm
    Learn to use your digital camera and to incorporate the essential elements of art such as composition, framing, point of view, and symbolism in your photographs. Inspired by LACMA's permanent collection and creative assignments. Explore the art of photography and visual storytelling.  All camera formats are welcome. With photographer-artist Lluvia Higuera.
  • Photography for Tweens
    Monday-Friday, July 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 10 am–3 pm

  • Mixed Media Experimentations
    Monday-Friday, July 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 10 am–3 pm
    In this class students will explore their individual interest and ideas through mixed media artwork. Students will create sculptures, paintings, and prints by utilizing experimental techniques in the studio. They will make connections between modern and contemporary art, drawing inspiration from the exhibitions Los Angeles to New York: Dwan Gallery, 1959–1971, Home — So Different, So Appealing, and LACMA's permanent collection.

Enrollment Procedures for Art Camp

  • Online enrollment begins on March 15, at Noon PST.
  • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited; camp does sell out.
  • Art Camp is designed for children ages 6 and older; children ages 5 and under will not be admitted. Proof of age will be required.
  • Registration is only available online.
  • Payment is required upon registration.

Logistic Information

  • Art Camp is from 10 am to 3 pm. LACMA does not offer extended care.
  • Campers must pack a lunch and snack every day to eat during supervised breaks.
  • Art materials and parking validation included in tuition.

Cancellation Policy
A refund equal to half of tuition paid will be granted for cancellations made two weeks before camp start date. No refunds will be made for cancellations made less than two weeks prior to camp start date. Please notify us immediately of any cancellations so that a child on our waiting list can attend camp. Full refunds will only be granted if the program is cancelled.
