Teachers and coordinators may now register for guided tours in LACMA's new David Geffen Galleries. Fall guided tours will run through February 12, 2027, and are available to K–12 students. To make a reservation, please visit gallerylearning.lacma.org.
The school tour lottery for spring 2027, including tours taking place between February 16 and May 28, 2027, will open on Monday, November 9, 2026. More information will be shared soon.
This fall, two tours will be offered: "Wander the World: Highlights of the David Geffen Galleries," for K–8 students, features objects from across the world, while "L.A. Stories: California Highlights from the David Geffen Galleries," for 9–12th grade students, centers local stories. The tours will include five or six objects with a 10-minute discussion at each object including grade-level appropriate questions and activities.

Use LACMA’s Self-Guided Tour Activity Sheets to create direct connections between your students and the museum’s global collection. LACMA’s Self-Guided Tour Activity Sheets are appropriate for all ages and can be modified to accommodate a student-directed search, a teacher-facilitated walkthrough, or any experience in between! Sheets can be used in combination or on their own to best fit your planned timeframe. Materials can be downloaded directly from the links below.

Reserving Your Self-Guided Tour
A limited number of groups can be accommodated each day. LACMA requires at least one adult for every 10 students, and chaperones must remain with their group of 10 students at all times.

Beginning in October 2022, professors can arrange a docent-led tour of LACMA's collection for their class. Guided tours can take place after 12 pm on weekdays and after 10 am on weekends. Tour groups are capped at 20 students and will include the exploration of one exhibition of the professor's choosing, led by a trained LACMA docent.
Reservations for docent-led tours must be arranged at least three weeks in advance, and are subject to docent availability. Email schooltours@lacma.org to make tour arrangements. College students working toward a degree receive complimentary admission for a docent-led tour when accompanied by their instructor.

College students working toward a degree receive complimentary admission for a self-guided visit when accompanied by their instructor or visiting with a recognized college club or organization. A limited number of groups can be accommodated each day.
Email schooltours@lacma.org at least two weeks in advance to reserve. If reservations are not made in advance, students and professors will be charged the appropriate general admission fee.
