Deep Cuts: Block Printing Across Cultures examines the history and global reach of block printing, one of the oldest and most adaptable methods of creating images.
In this exhibition walkthrough, LACMA curator Erin Maynes will discuss block printing and its role in spreading images and ideas across time and cultures.
As a complement to the program, attend a Japanese woodblock printing demonstration presented by the Japan Foundation, Los Angeles (JFLA). Led by renowned woodblock artist Paul Binnie, this off-site, ticketed event offers participants a hands-on look at traditional techniques and tools. Register for the demonstration via JFLA.
Please note: registration for the demonstration is managed separately by JFLA and is not required to attend the walkthrough at LACMA.
