LACMA members are invited to join FILM at LACMA for a special in-person screening of F1, followed by a conversation with supervising sound editor Gwendolyn Yates Whittle, MPSE; re-recording mixers Gary A. Rizzo, CAS, and Juan Peralta; production mixer Gareth John, AMPS; editor Stephen Mirrione, ACE; and visual effects supervisor Robert Harrington.
In the 1990s, Sonny Hayes was poised for Formula 1 greatness until an accident nearly ended his racing career. When an old friend convinces Sonny to return to F1 to save his failing team, his second chance at glory is complicated by his rookie teammate’s competition and the burden of his own past.
F1 has received four Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, Best Sound, Best Film Editing, and Best Visual Effects.
