Jose Rizo’s Picoso is a vibrant and dynamic modern Latin jazz sextet led by renowned radio announcer Jose Rizo of 88.1 FM KJAZZ. True to its name, meaning “spicy,” the band delivers fiery, innovative performances that blend traditional Latin rhythms with a progressive jazz sensibility. The ensemble features world-class musicians with a repertoire centering around original compositions by Rizo and Francisco Torres. With a focus on pushing musical boundaries through intricate arrangements and improvisations, the band creates a fresh and compelling sound that appeals to jazz enthusiasts and Latin music fans alike.
